The Dafmark Creative Arts Program at the John E. Horan Garden Apartments Library

The Dafmark Art Program is open Monday through Friday from 2:30 – 7:00PM. Activities include fine arts, photography, theater, dance, storytelling, hip hop dance, chess, after school support, and learning incentives. The program is open to any Housing Authority resident ages 6 to 18.


John F. Kennedy Center

The John F. Kennedy Center offers youth ages 6 to 18 a wide variety of recreational, youth developmental and education programs. Activities include homework assistance, computers, sports leagues, performing arts, fieldtrips, arts and crafts, board games and cooking. Renowned Jazz Musician Mary Alice Brown also offers individual and group instructions in vocal, banjos, and instrument and rhythm theory.

The programs operate Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for youth ages 6 to 16. On days when school is not in session the Center is open from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Center also offers expanded recreational hours for youth ages 16 to 21 from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Transportation is provided from the Authority’s Bird Drive Development to the Center.

A wide variety of senior programs including medical services are also offered at the Center. Community Health Net operates an on-site family medical clinic at the Center.
