The Housing Authority of the City of Erie's 2012 Draft Agency Plan is available online and at Housing Authority administration offices.

The Plan has been prepared in accordance with regulations of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development pursuant to the Quality Housing Work Responsibility Act of 1998. This document is on display for a 45-day comment period, which will end at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2011. The plan is on display at any Housing Authority administration office, including the Erie Housing Authority’s main office, 606 Holland Street, and also online. Also, the tenant council presidents and members of the resident advisory board have the plan available for viewing.

The plan is a document submitted annually to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) by each housing Authority in the country. It details how authorities will spend federal funds for construction, renovation, programs, equipment, and services. The Erie Housing Authority's Agency Plan for 2012 details for HUD how $3 million for public housing in Erie will be spent.

Comments relative to the Plan should be addressed, in writing, to John E. Horan, Executive Director, Housing Authority of the City of Erie, 606 Holland Street, Erie PA 16501.

Comments must be received by 4:30 p.m. on December 14, 2011.

There will be a formal public hearing on the Agency Plan on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the John E. Horan Garden Apartments Learning Center, 730 Tacoma Road. All comments will be taken into consideration by the Housing Authority Board at its December 27 regular meeting at 606 Holland Street at 1:15 p.m.

The plan will be submitted for approval to HUD on or before January 6, 2012. HUD is expected to approve the plan in early spring of 2012.
