The Housing Authority’s Annual “Meet Your Neighbor Day” on June 11 will offer something special at the John E. Horan Garden Apartments.

As always, the event will offer our residents a chance to come together and meet their neighbors in a picnic atmosphere, but also, this year we’re taking the occasion to honor service providers who have been at the John E. Horan Garden Apartments anywhere from 9 to 33 years,” said John Horan, executive director of the Authority.

“Residents can meet not only their neighbors, but also these service providers,” Horan said. “The Housing Authority relies heavily on our many partners to assist public housing families on their journey toward economic self-sufficiency. We could not do it without them.”

Horan said the Housing Authority is celebrating program partnerships with Erie governmental and private non-profit organizations that have helped improve the lives of public housing residents living in the John E. Horan Garden Apartments.

The Authority will present Outstanding Service Awards to several organizations that have partnered with the Authority to improve our resident’s lives, including Head Start, which is celebrating its 33rd year of providing early childhood education services to the residents of the John E. Horan Garden Apartments.
