The Housing Authority’s Summer Jobs Program is accepting applications through Friday, June 5.

Shown above are young Housing Authority residents reviewing paperwork with HACE Human Resource officer Karen Carneval at their orientation for the Housing Authority's Summer Internship Program. Orientation sessions are held for new workers once a week until all job openings are filled.

Twenty-five students will be employed by Authority offices, maintenance, or recreation sites.

College-bound summer workers will be assigned to one of the neighborhood summer youth clubs, a Housing Authority office position, or to the Authority maintenance department.

Jobs will last for the duration of summer vacation.

The program is open to residents of the Erie Housing Authority, ages 18-22, currently attending college or accepted for the fall semester.

The program began 16 years ago as an added incentive for public housing youth to continue their education beyond high school.

Apply at the Housing Authority’s Central Office, 606 Holland Street through through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
