--- Issued November 22 Authority Director John E. Horan gave Erie City Council member Rubye Jenkins-Husband a hug and a HOPE pin at the recent testimonial dinner honoring her accomplishments. While other presenters, including County Executive Mark DiVecchio, gave her framed certificates and other items, Horan said, “Nobody else can give you one of these,” and then pinned the HOPE pin on her lapel. HOPE stands for “Housing Opportunities for the People of Erie” and is the Erie Housing Authority’s credo, along with “It’s About People.” The HOPE pin is given to those who have helped the Authority by giving of themselves. The testimonial for Jenkins-Husband was held Friday, November 17, at the John F. Kennedy Center and was sponsored by the Rt. Rev. Dwane Brock, Bishop, and the Bishop’s Institute of Applied Science and Biblical Studies Department of Democracy and civility.
