If any City of Erie authority knows the true meaning of Christmas, the Housing Authority of the City of Erie does.
Horan starts to call the guests up one by one to join him on stage.
The Authority owns and manages 2,150 quality housing units in the City of Erie for low- and moderate-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities and it provides affordable housing to over 7,500 Erie citizens through its various housing programs.
This is not a gift, though.
“Our goal is to help our residents become self-sufficient enough to leave public housing and strike out on their own,” HACE Executive Director John E. Horan said.
On December 12, 56 HACE employees and their guest gathered for a party at the Maennerchor Club to celebrate Christmas and the HACE mission with good food, camaraderie, fellowship, and caroling by all present.
This was the 37th year HACE has held its Christmas Party!
Horan led the Christmas singing, calling guests up one-by-one to join him on stage -- as he has done for 37 years.
The event is paid for by the guests, who willingly contribute to join in the Christmas fun and to celebrate the work they do.
