The Housing Authority of the City of Erie will accept comments on the draft 2015 Agency Plan from November 3, 2014, through the close of business at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014.

The program document is available for review at any Housing Authority office or from members of the Resident Advisory Board.

Comments should be addressed in writing to John E. Horan, Executive Director, Housing Authority of the City of Erie, 606 Holland Street, Erie, PA 16501. The Authority will consider all comments before final action is taken on the Plan.

A formal public hearing on the Agency Plan will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 6:30 p.m., in the John E. Horan Garden Apartments Learning Center, 730 Tacoma Road. The hearing will allow residents and others an opportunity to address comments concerning the Agency Plan directly to the Board of the Housing Authority.

The draft Plan has been prepared in accordance with regulations of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development pursuant to the Quality Housing Work Responsibility Act of 1998.

2015 Annual and Five-Year Plan Review and Public Hearing

The Housing Authority of the City of Erie (HACE), in compliance with Section 511 of the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998, hereby makes public notice of the following:

On November 3, 2014, the HACE will provide, for public review, inspection, and comment, the HACE’s draft 2015 Agency Plan update and supportive material. These documents will be available for inspection by the public at the HACE’s central office, 606 Holland Street, Erie, Pa., 16501, during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday) for a 45-day period, ending December 17, 2014. To facilitate public access and review of the plans, the HACE has arranged for copies of the primary documents to be available at the following site offices:

The Plan details the way in which the Authority proposes to allocate approximately $2.6 million in federal fiscal year 2015 funds. Public housing residents may contact their Resident Advisory Board representatives to review and comment on the Plan. Section 8 clients or interested private citizens may review the documents at the HACE’s central office. All comments on the draft plan must be in writing and be received in the HACE office no later than the close of business on Wednesday, December 17, 2014.

On Wednesday, December 17, 2014, the HACE Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing to discuss the 2015 Agency Plan update and invite public comment regarding the plan. The hearing will take place at the John E. Horan Garden Apartments Learning Center, 730 Tacoma Road, Erie, Pa., beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The HACE will contact all organizations and groups that it believes are interested in the operations, programs, and services of the HACE, to specifically seek their comments and recommendations.

The HACE will consider all public comments received on the plan and make any changes deemed advisable based on the comments and in consultation with the Housing Authority’s Resident Advisory Board.
