Look at the faces in the photo below. These young residents are enjoying nature!

Sister Pat Lupo, OSB, far left, above, and members of the YMCA Kids Club Green Team recently hosted a presentation at the YMCA John Horan Garden Apartments from Tamarack Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center.

Sister Pat is education director for Earth Action and is the Neighborhood Art House Environmental Specialist. Rick Wyman, far right, brought a hawk, a falcon and an owl to help teach 20 HACE Kids Club members about the birds and the Tamarack organization. Rick is a bird handler for Tamarack  Wildlife Center of Saegertown.

The Tamarack Center’s twin mission is to rehabilitate wildlife and return animals to the wild, and to provide education for all ages promoting appreciation and understanding of wildlife.

Tamarack specializes in the rescue, treatment and release of injured, orphaned and sick wildlife. Additionally, Tamarack provides public education programs and materials on the behavior, feeding habits, and natural habitats of many of Pennsylvania’s species of wildlife.
