We have met the neighbors ... and they are ours!

On June 23, despite heavy intermittent rain, the Erie Housing Authority sponsored a very successful "Meet Your Neighbor" event at the John E. Horan Garden Apartments that made everyone happy with their neighbors and HACE staffers.

At least 200 people attended.

There was something – besides picnic food – for everyone, including free books donated by the Authority and the Erie County Library.  And the Master Gardeners of Erie and Sister Pat Lupo of Earth Force donated vegetable seedlings for the children to take home. The plants were donated by Potratz Garden Center.

Other activities included COPPS officers interacting with the children and setting up a youth obstacle course (six officers were on hand); a disc jockey playing music; a hula-hoop demonstration and lessons; several cultural activities; games put on by the Multi-Cultural Resource Center; and various informational tables sponsored by organizations such as SafeNet and Early Connections.  The Early Connections Table offered face-painting.
